Entries From Our Guest Book

Meriel, thank you so much for a lovely, inspirational holiday. I will have very fond memories of my time at Montresor, and always look forward to someday returning. All the best to you, your husband, Megan and Peter!

A beautiful property and location very peaceful. Many thanks to Megan and Peter who were so friendly and helpful. Good places to visit were Lac-de-Paraloup / le Colombier where the lions are amazing. Thank you.

After a disastrous start (breakdown in Orleans, hire car from there) we arrived at this breathtaking location. The week has passed us by, just not enough time to do everything so we will be back - probably not by car next time. This is just a beautiful location. Thank you to Peter and Megan for their help and welcome and thank you to Brian and Meriel for finding yet another gem for us to stay in.

A remarkable three weeks of extreme contrast. Sunny and warm on arrival followed by ten days of cold, wet and gales... 12 - 13 °C!! Our last week warmed to 30 °C and clear blue skies. This holiday will stay in our memories for the welcoming response as we tried our fragile French, the wonderful walks, the rapidly changing climate as Spring became Summer, and the abundance of wildlife. Black kites soaring over fields of hay as it was cut, numerous species of butterfly including swallowtails and purple emperors, and nightingales below on the track to Clairvaux. We would particularly recommend a walk (the long route via Lacbaume) to Goutrens for lunch at the new restaurant, and the walk to Brejoules and back via Panat. Megan and Peter have been in pointing us in the right direction. Megan has helped with lots of local information and Peter is a fellow entomologist! Thank you Meriel and Brian for allowing us to use your house. We would have been happy to stay another three weeks and really didn't want to leave!
